Kendra Kay Forry
Kendra Kay Forry, 12, daughter of Ronald and Elaine Card Swinton, who suffered from Crouzons disease,
had a fatal attack at her home, 514 1st Ave. N. E., Waverly on Wednesday, May 30. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Waverly hospital.
Survivors include her parents; one sister, Loylynn, grandparents, Glann and Dorothy Card of Shell Rock and
Vernon and Donna Swinton of Waverly; maternal great-grandmother, Sylivia Spurgeon of Albany, N.Y., and her paternal great-grandparents, Henry and Esther Niemeyer of Waverly.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at Kaiser-Corson Chapel in Waverly with Rev.
Craig Burch officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Shell Rock. Friends may call at Kaiser- Corson Funeral Home, Waverly. |
Ronn W. Simon - 1988
Parkersburg - Ronn W. Simon, 34, of Marion, formerly of Parkersburg, died Thursday, Feb. 26, at home of a
seizure; survivors include his mother, Marcidas "Babe" Simon of Cedar Falls; his father, Raymond H. Simon of Parkersburg; a brother, Scott R. of Parkersburg; and a sister, Beverly R. Redenius of Cedar Falls; he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ward and Hazel Card; and paternal grandparents, John and Jeanne Simon; services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday a the funeral home with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. visitation also from 9 a.m. until services Wednesday; memorials may be directed to the family; Mr. Simon received a bachelor's degree in 1987 from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls in political science and public administration. He was former director of United Way in Marshalltown, and then was fund-raiser for Trees for Ever in Marion; he was past chairman of the Butler County Republican Committee and was working toward his master's degree at UNI. |
Floyd I. Card - Parkersburg Eclipse, 1975
Floyd Irvin Card, age 75, died Tuesday evening at Allen Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient a
very short time. Mr. Card died from a massive heart attack.
Floyd Irvin Card was born March 6, 1900, the son of Irvin and Mary Booheister Card, near Parkersburg in
Butler County. Mr. Card had worked for Butler County Road Crew and was Maintenance Superintendent for many years. He was a World War Two Veteran and a member of the American Legion. He also served on the Parkersburg City Council.
He is survived by his brother, Elmer Card of Parkersburg, 1 niece, Mrs. Ray Simon, and three nephews,
Vernon Card, Howard and harry Bloomfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday at the Engelkes Funeral Home in Parkersburg with the Rev. Ora
Reep officiating, Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersbug. The Casket bearers were: Dean Patterson, James Graham, Raymond Siems, Ray Nitcher, Walter Schell and Richard Frey. |
Clarence "Bud" A. Card
Parkersburg - Clarence "Bud" A. Card, 78, of Marshalltown, formerly of Parkersburg, died Thursday, Dec.
17, at Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, of natural causes; survivors include his wife, Gloria; four sons, John of Cedar Rapids, Allen of Austinville, Paul of Marshalltown and Floyd of Waterloo; two step grandchildren a step great-granddaughter; a sister, Jeanette Hook of Vinton; and a brother, Glenn of Shell Rock; he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Donna Mae; and a brother, William "Bill"; services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Schwartz Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg; friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until services Monday at the funeral home; Mr. Card was a U.S. Air Corps veteran of World War II. He farmed in the New Hartford and Parkersburg area, and for 26 years drove a truck for the New Hartford and Parkersburg grain elevators, retiring in 1985. |
Alma F. (Buckridge) Card - 1991
Alma F. Card, 62, of 116 W. Wellington St., died at her home Monday, April 29, after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 6, 1928, in Grinnel, daughter of Harry V. and Greta Wells Buckridge. She married Floyd
S. Card, Jr. on June 28, 1946, in Des Moines.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Rick and Kent, both of Des Moines, Floyd "Joe" III of Waterloo,
Curtis of Glendale, Ariz., and Jim DeWiese of Evansdale; three daughters, Cindy Adams of Maynard, Patti Cohea of Cedar Rapids and Renee Cagley of Waterloo; 19 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Richard of Missouri; and two sister, Amy Smith of Waterloo and Idamae Hibben of Jesup; she was preceded in death by a brother William.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel downtown and from 9 a.m. until services Wednesday at Garden View Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice.
