Hazel D. (Pierce) Card - Parkersburg Eclipse, 1981
Mrs. Hazel D. Card of 405 5th St., Parkersburg, Iowa, died at 12:21 a.m., Sunday at Allen Memorial
Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, from an apparent heart attack. Mrs. Card had reached the age of 76 years and 4
months.

Hazel was born the daughter of Charles and Emma Buss Pierce on January 10, 1905, in Parkersburg, Iowa.
She received her education in the Parkersburg schools.

On December 14, 1921, Hazel was united in marriage to Ward Card in Parkersburg. To this union they were
blessed with two daughters and always made their home in Parkersburg.

Hazel was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church and a Charter Member of the American Legion Auxillary.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Marcidas) Simon of rural Parkersburg; 3 grandchildren,
Beverly Redenius, Scott & Ron Simon; 6 greag grandchildren, Michael, Susan and Andrew Redenius and Eric
Travis and Christopher Simon; and 4 sisters, Mrs. William (Mildred) Groen, Parkersburg, Mrs. Lyle (Lucille)
Lumley, Lahabra, Calif., Mrs. Mary Frerichs, Clarksville, and Mrs. Bert (Caroline) Adelmund of Parkersburg.
Mrs. Card is preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1962, and 1 daughter, Maggie Ruth in 1930, and
two brothers, Robert F. Stickley and Charles B. Stickley.

Parkersburg - Services for Mrs. Hazel D. Card, 76, of Parkersburg, who died early Sunday morning at Allen
Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bethel Lutheran Church at Parkersbug;
burial in Oak Hill Cemetery; survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Simon of Parkersburg; three
grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. William Groen of Parkersburg, Mrs. Lyle Lumley of La Habre, Calif. Mrs.
Mary Frerichs of Clarksville and Mrs. Bert Adelmund of Parkersbug. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday
at the Schwartz-Engelkes Funeral Home in Parkersburg.
Ora Card - Aug. 6, 1958
Dumont - Funeral services for Ora Card, 90, who died Tuesday at the convalescent home here where he had
been a patient for some time, were to be Wednesday afternoon at the Vogel Funeral Home here; burial in
Dumont Cemetery. Survived by two sons; Chauncey, Hampton; George, Mason City; two daughters; Mrs.
Axel Damm, and Mrs. Louis Rose, both of Waterloo.
Martha Elizabeth (Palmer) Card
Dumont - Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Card, 81, Sunday at her home here of a heart ailment. Born Oct. 17, 1860,
at Parkersburg; married to Ora Card Sept. 18, 1895, at Grundy Center; leaves husband, two daughters, Mrs.
Axel Dann and Mrs. Alice Rose, Waterloo; two sons, Chancey, Hampton; George, Dumont; one sister, Mrs.
Tom Fitetbrick, Waverly; three brothers, Seymour and Sherman, Parkersburg, and William, Atlanta, Ga.; 11
grandchildren and five great grandchildren; funeral, 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Vogel funeral home and at 2 in
the Methodist church; burial in Dumont Cemetery.
David E. Card
Bovey - David Edward Card, 82, Lawrence Lake, died Wednesday of a heart attack while hunting.

Survivors include five sons, Harley, Conception Junction, Mo.; lee, Calvin and David, all of rural Bovey, and
Ora Card, Grand Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. Vera Hughes, rural Bovey; 39 grandchildren, and 56 great-
grandchildren; three brothers, Willard, Floyd and Mert, all of Waterloo, Iowa; two sister, Mrs. Jessie
Rasmussen and Mrs. Mamie Wilkinson, both of Waterloo.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Coleraine.
Howard L. Card - 1995
Beaman - Howard L. Card, 94, of Aplington, formerly of Beaman, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Maple Manor
Nursing Home of natural causes; survivors include his wife, Leona Luebberts Card; a son, Larry of
Parkersburg; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Laura Polmateer of Shell Rock; he was
preceded in death by a son, Gary; two sisters; and tow brothers; services were 1:30 p.m. today at Johnston
Funeral Home, Conrad, with burial in Vienna Cemetery, Beaman; a memorial fund is being established; Mr.
Card was a retired carpenter.
George W. Card - 1989
George W. Card, age 83, of Mason City, a former Dumont resident, passed away on Friday, April 15, at the
North Iowa Medical Center at Mason City of heart failure.

George W. Card was born February 15, 1905, at Paynesville, MN., to Oren and Martha (Palmer) Card. He
was married to Eleanor Roberts on April 17 at Clarksville.

Mr. Card formerly owned and operated the Card Mobile Service Station in Dumont from 1954 to 1964.
From 1964 to 1974 he resided in Allison, and since 1974 he been an auto salesman residing in Mason City.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, one sister, and one brother.

He is survived by his wife Eleanor; two daughters, Mrs. Curt (Elizabeth) Creglow of Sioux Falls, SD., and
Mrs. Deb Chamberlin of Mason City; two sons Terry Card of Des Moines; ten grandchildren; and one sister,
Mrs. Agatha Damm of Waterloo; also a step son, Shawn Feltus of Rockford; and seven step daughters; Mrs.
Jane Ferch of Clarksville, Mrs. Don (Anne) McWilliams of Dumont, Mrs. Mary Lou Marzen of Marble Rock,
Miss Celia Feltus of Iowa City, Mrs. Ruth Hallett of Dallas, TX., Mrs. Tami Wright of Phoenix, AZ., and Mrs.
Amy Rossen, Lafayette, LA.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 18, 10:00 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church in Mason
City with Rev. Gary Hullenburg officiating. Burial was at the Dumont Cemetery with the Sietsema-Vogel
Funeral Home of Hampton in charge of the arrangements. The pallbearers were Shawn Feltus, Don
McWilliams, Greg Martzen, Floyd Rinnels, Keith Freebury and Ted Ferch.
